Central Animal Records offers completely free access to our national database for owners, breeders, council rangers, vet clinics, qualified implanters and other authorised organisations such as animal welfare groups and rescues.
Owner Access: Our standard online access type allows pet owners, breeders and animal rescues. If all you want to do is manage the pets which are currently listed under your name, add new pets or update your contact details, this is the access type for you.
V.I.Pet Owner Access: This new access types unlocks the full power of Central Animal Records. V.I.Pet Owner Access gives pet owners and breeders over 15 exclusive features such as Pet Profile Pictures, Active Recovery Services, Exclusive Discounts, Lost Pet Poster Studio, Medical Condition Listing AND MORE!
Council Access: This access type is designed for council rangers and animal management officers. With council access, you will be able to conduct microchip recovery searches for stray animals or conduct microchip verification checks. Council access also allows you to generate council reports, giving you a list of all pets listed under your municipality to compare with your own records.
Vet Clinic Access: This access type is designed for veterinarians and qualified implanters. With vet clinic access, you will be able to conduct microchip recovery searches for stray animals or conduct microchip verification checks.
Vet Clinic access also allows you to enter new microchip subscriptions to the database rather than filling out paperwork.
Optional: If you reside in Western Australia, you’re eligible to sign-up for ‘Vedi - Smart microchip Registrations’ which allows you to complete microchip subscriptions within 30 seconds with instant confirmation.
Authorised Animal Welfare Access: This access type is designed for animal welfare organisations who have pre-existing agreements with their respective councils. With authorised animal welfare access, you will be able to conduct microchip recovery searches for stray animals or conduct microchip verification checks. Upon application, you will be required to provide us with a letter from your council if you operate outside of Victoria or an 84y Agreement if you operate within Victoria. If you simply want to manage the pets which are being transferred in and out of your organisation's name, you should apply for 'Owner Access'.
