FAQ - For Vets & Implanters

Q1. We need to organise access to the CAR database to conduct microchip searches for strays, microchip verifications, and enter new subscriptions, how do we do this?

Answer: Access will be granted at an individual level for online access. Any authorised staff member requesting access will need to follow the steps below.

  1. Go to 'Create Account' on the homepage.
  2. Enter your details.
  3. Click the link in the confirmation email to verify the email address used.
  4. When given the option to choose your access level, select 'Vet Clinic/Implanter and then enter all of the required details
  5. If you entered the correct CAR PIN, access will be granted. If you do not know the CAR PIN  or your organisation does not have one, we will need to verify your application before we approve it. (Allow 1-3 working days)

Q2. How to we get a CAR PIN for phone recoveries and verifications?

Answer: You will need to call us during business hours. Once we are able to successfully identify you and verify that your council is authorised to access the database, we can provide you with a 4 digit CAR PIN which can be used by staff and rangers to conduct microchip verification and recovery calls.
